2024 Resolutions: Social Media Edition

After all the holiday hoopla comes to an end, not everyone charges into the new year at full speed ahead. Some of us are t-i-r-e-d. 🥱 If you can’t relate, then maybe you actually are the early bird who’s been curating their 2024 vision board and resolutions since last June! Either way, here’s the bottom line: The MeyCo team has put together these top to-do’s to help you have a successful year on social media.

1. I will post consistently.

In the marketing world, this age-old phrase honestly rings true: Consistency is KEY. When your audience scrolls through Instagram or TikTok and comes across your content at least twice a week, this builds cognizance that, psychologically, teaches them about your products or services gradually—even if they aren’t entirely paying attention at the time. So when they’re finally ready to choose a new dermatologist or microdermabrasion treatment, your brand will come to mind first.

Consistent posting also builds credibility for newcomers who tap into your profile; an active account is more trustworthy than one that posts sporadically every other month.

2. I will use hashtags in every post.

Hashtags are here to stay, and leading social media experts encourage you to use them! Hashtags boost discoverability and put you on the map, so to speak, as they place your content directly in front of target audiences. Anywhere from 3–6 hashtags is “the sweet spot,” which should include your location, brand, and any relevant keywords.

3. I will use the Link Sticker in Stories.

The Link Sticker (available for Business and Creator accounts) can help you drive traffic from Instagram Stories to almost anywhere—your website, blog, recent media features, a registration page, or other social media platforms. Link Stickers are customizable, too, so you can tailor them to fit your brand colors or the overall aesthetic of your story.

4. I will film 2 videos/Reels of me and my team per week.

Company culture is everything for potential employees and, equally so, potential customers. Your audience wants to see a day in your life, cheeky Reels, or team member highlights. By getting all hands on deck, you can cultivate a stronger team that can A) have fun together and B) deliver an invaluable behind-the-scenes look into who your company really is—a key component of most consumers’ purchasing decisions.

5. I will refresh my bio.

There’s only so much you can say in 150 characters to inform and attract, so take this opportunity to SHINE! We recommend starting with a blurb that conveys exactly what your business is all about (e.g., fractional CO2 laser device manufacturer). Then depending on your objectives, add the location you’re based out of, areas/individuals you service, branded hashtags, handles of relevant parent or sister companies, or perhaps a clear CTA like, “👉 Ask our team about skin rejuvenation solutions! ✨”

6. I will plan ahead

Going hand-in-hand with the MeyCo team’s first resolution, the best approach to consistent posting is planning what to post. This can take a huge load off your SM stresses, so sit down with your marketers and create a posting schedule that is at least 1 week or 30 days in advance. *But beware, that schedule is 100% subject to change due to last-minute ideas, trends, or announcements.* In essence, you’re planning all the different angles from which your product could convert viewers, so get creative and cover your commodities from head to toe!

7. I will spend 15 minutes every day engaging on social media.

If there’s one thing you learn here, let it be this: A ghost account will remain just that—a ghost on your target audience’s radar! 15 minutes is more than enough time to savor your morning coffee, so why not use that small window of time to also make a BIG impact on your business account?! And don’t be shy, either! Like, comment, and reshare content like there’s no tomorrow. 😉

8. I will block out time to review my social strategy.

About mid January is the time to assess what worked and what didn’t. This may seem too soon, but it’s really not! You’d rather ensure success now than discover later that certain social media strategies were all for nothing. Ask yourself, “Did those team Reels perform well?” “Would engaging online for 30 minutes a day achieve higher visibility?” “Should I increase my weekly posting schedule?” And of course, if you need guidance along the way, reach out to our expert team for help.

9. DON’T OVERTHINK IT!

We know you want your medical practice or device manufacturing company to excel online, but that shouldn’t stop you from diving all in. For some, it can seem more important to create “perfect” content than to just, well, post. Like our CEO Catherine says, “Posting good content is always better than posting no content.” Building your online presence is a gradual, trial-and-error process, so set your inhibitions aside and start experimenting!

10. Make social media your TOP priority.

Compared to previous years, try to make 2024 the Year of Social Media. Even if you put just one or a few of these resolutions in motion, this can still generate improvements that may just result in more patients, more buyers, and, above all, more success. 💖
